Betsson Group has announced its expansion in Eastern Europe through the launch of the Europebet brand and a new office – both in Belarus.
The operator’s Europebet.by will offer casino and sports betting to locals, and will be the first brand to offer poker in the Belarusian market.
The company adds that several gaming providers are already on board and that a wider portfolio of games from other suppliers will be added soon.
Belarus users can expect a live casino offering to be introduced in the coming weeks.
The company has also opened a new office in Minsk, which will be responsible for customer service, and administrative and operational activities.
Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson AB, said: “Building on the success of Europebet in Georgia, the expansion into nearby Belarus is a natural step in our business growth strategy. We started looking into this market back in 2019 and have been preparing for this expansion ever since.
“As an operator, we will be introducing a high-quality and entertaining product, an excellent customer experience, innovative technology as well as providing multiple job opportunities through our new office in Minsk.”
The expansion announcement comes after the company announced an “all-time high operating profit” during the second quarter of 2021; the operating profit was estimated to be in the range of SEK 375m ($43m) to SEK 385m.
The quarter also saw an increase in active customer numbers of around 25% compared to the previous quarter.
